Ever looked at your food?

Ever sit down to a meal and just look at it? What could you say to describe what you see?

Ever sit down to a meal and just look at it? What could you say to describe what you see?

The glistening of the steamy sweat on the carefully crafted bao? The green steaminess of the bamboo containers arranged in appealing layouts in front of you.

Even when some of the elements look the same, yet they are decidedly different. The bao looked delicate and comforting while the meat balls looked hearty yet not too overpowering in the arrangement. And anchoring the arrangement was a shining pot of tea with bright greens and chrome.

This is what I see when I look at my food. I also see what it could be. As a photographer and traveler I gather the stories. I try to visually tell the audience about that moment of time and that experience that made the impression on me. As a food photographer, I want you to want what I captured. You want to taste the bao, you want to smell the tea.
